Cut from the same cloth

We say we are all different, but at the same time it feels like we are all so similar. Despite the several obvious differences, it still feels like deep down we are all just the same. Craving for love and attention, focusing on ourselves before anyone else (some might wanna deny, but realize it's true), and take every important thing as granted just because it's there. And I am not just talking about relationships, though it stands true for them too. In this past month, I realized this. Both for relationships, and my own self. I hurt my foot, my hand and my heart and it taught me one thing: Nothing is going to magically stay there in your life. You have to work for it, take care of it, and never forget that having something today doesn't guarantee any such thing for future. So, love yourself. Take care of your health. And make sure your loved ones know you love them! P.S. Let's connect on  Facebook ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest ,  Bloglovin ,  and ...

Happy things

"Enjoy the little things,  for one day you may look back  and realize they were the big things."  - Robert Brault We often overlook them, but these little happy things have the power of changing out lives- they change our mood, our attitude, and our energies. With struggles of everyday life, we focus more on the negatives and the let downs, and it causes so much stress in life. I, myself, am not the most positive person always but time to time I like to look back and smile at the little happy things that make me feel blessed and peaceful at heart. And, today I thought of sharing with you some of the happy things from last few days! Stay at home: It wasn't planned but I had to go for an eye exam in the morning and the doctor suggested I stay away from sunlight and computers for some time. So I worked from home, after a good one-hour nap. Pay-day: I don't think I need to say much about it- my metaphorical pockets say it for me! Spa:...

5 reasons why we procrastinate

Procrastination is probably the biggest evil in my life at this point. I have SO MUCH to do and yet I just procrastinate. I always find something to procrastinate with . It just stresses me so much in the end, and still I don't learn. So, I thought I should just sit with myself and figure out why the heck do I do this to myself. Arghh.. Big projects:  Whenever I have a big project coming up, I just keep looking at it like this big mountain that needs to be climbed. The more I think about it, more I don't want to do it. Eventually, I do climb it- but I just waste so much time thinking how can a tiny me climb this big mountain. To deal with this mountain- I have started to break into smaller doable chunks. I now set breakpoints over the journey and maybe small rewards or naps when I cross each of them. Rewards motivate me! Worry:  Sometimes I worry about the results. I have this fear of failure or not living up to the expectations. I feel like my family and frie...

7 ways to handle stress in life

The busier life gets, more stressful it becomes. Having a lot on my plate lately, I have felt it even more. And, trying to handle all of it I decided to make a little list of things that help me to handle stress so that I can try to remember them and include them in life. And, since sharing is caring, I want to share it with you too. Take notes- Don't rely on memory. So many times I overestimate myself and think that I will remember everything later, and I have later regretted that. I have started putting things as reminders and taking notes in my planner for things I need to do. Prioritize- Take one thing at a time. This is a very important one, and probably the biggest culprit for my stress. But, now I try to put things on calendar so I have a blueprint for the day. Once you know what is more important, and you get those done, you won't feel so stressed even if you can't get to the last things on the list.. Avoid negative people-  I can't even coun...

Making multitasking possible

There are so many things going on in my life that, all at once, seem to demand attention from me. It is kind of stressing me out now, and the more I stress the more I want to not do any of those. Health: I have to get in a better shape and lose weight, and it needs meal planning, cooking at home, and working out of course. Job: It's a new job, and there's lot to learn, and for that I might even have to put in extra hours than usual. School: I am also finishing up my degree, which means I need to put in at least 10-12 hours each week. Blog: I really enjoy blogging, and reading other blogs, but all of it demands time. But, I just lose track of time very often while writing posts, or going through my feed, and end up spending hours. Relationships:  with me & others: A good work-life balance is important to me, and I don't want to become a person who is too busy to have some time for family, friends, or herself. Also, I need to focus on my...

My 2015 Bucket List

Like everybody else, I too have made several bucket lists over last few years. Last year, I had 4 things on my list: Get a tattoo, drive on Golden Gate Bridge, go Skydiving, and visit Las Vegas. But, even after keeping the list short, I could do only half of it. I did get a tattoo and also drove on the Golden Gate Bridge which was awesome . But sadly, the rest of it couldn't happen! I might be a little late in doing this but I am making another list this year, we'll see how far we go with this one! Make this year a year of me. As far as I can remember, I have always given more importance to others- their happiness, their expectations of me. I want to change this. I want to be selfish.  Travel. Like last year, I have a few destinations in mind but I have learned that we cannot plan too much. So, I will try to travel as much as I can without making rigid expectations from this year or from people.  If someone is reading, I still have Vegas and Florida on my list. S...

My big move

This last weekend was my big move across country. I am starting a new job soon, so new city new place. It is pretty exciting; I am thinking about home decor ALL THE TIME! I know it is going to take time set up the place and it will be one thing at a time, but I can't stop. I even made a Pinterest board for decor ideas- Check it out!  But along with all the excitement, it is also scary and overwhelming. There is SO MUCH to do. And having to do it alone, makes it even scarier. For every little thing you have to make a decision yourself, and some of those have to be quick. On top of that, unpacking is so damn hard. I am just procrastinating most of the time because I dread it. Plus I have no furniture to put my stuff in. But, slowly doing what I can. And, like every big thing, this big move also comes with some realizations: You need food and sleep. In a long list of things to do, these two tend to take a back seat. But our body has a way of reminding us their importance ...

Finding some gratitude in me

Sometimes, life beats you down repeatedly and it is very hard to find something to feel good about. No matter how hard you look, your vision is just clouded with the struggle and its effects. Such has been the past few weeks for me. We plan. We hope. But life isn't a promise. I hoped to make this year about me, to be a little selfish, to do things for myself. Turns out, life had other plans.  January is almost over and nothing so far has been about me. So, what can you do. Cry. Pick a fight. Distract with TV. Drink. Turn into a super sloth and a ball of gloom. I am sick of myself. So, this morning, I decided to force myself into finding some good. It has been hard. I am coming up blank. Still, giving a shot at finding gratitude!  I am thankful for: The anticipation: Next week I'm moving to a new city. New apartment, my own space. *excited* No cooking: I hate cooking, and I love the takeouts over past weeks. Might have loved eating out more, but e...

I am thankful for

Blogging:   Took a lot of effort to bring myself back here but looks like finally I am. My roommate:   After all, who doesn't love tea! (I am in complete denial about the fact that I have to move out tomorrow. Gonna miss her!) No schedule: Sleeping at 4 am, waking up after noon. Loving every minute of it! Packing done: I hate packing, and the fact that I am close to done is an achievement. Sunshine:   always makes me happy. Money:   Since I'm moving out I have been selling out all my stuff and who doesn't love cash in hand! Free air: Nobody nagging me, telling me what to do or how to do (for most part). Dunno how long its gonna last but it feels so good. What are you thankful for? --------------------------------------------------------- P.S. Let's get social!

You are your own enemy

Why do you have to give importance to everyone and everything, but yourself?  And, just because you make someone important, does not mean you mean the same to them.  Still, you would expect the same from them, and then no one is at fault but yourself.  You put yourself up for disappointments. You are the reason why you get hurt. You are the reason why people treat you the way they do.  You are the enemy you have.

How I wish..

No matter how much you want,  you just can't bring the time back.  How I wish I could!  Just one day,  so I could give it another chance.

A little wish, this day

Everything is different  when I look back. One year, million heartbreaks, dark shadows I see,  so I choose to look another way. Maybe there is a light somewhere. I will keep walking forward towards that unknown with faith in heart. I could be wrong but I choose that in my hope for my dreams. I close my eyes and see a smile, a blessing, a guardian angel. Always there through everything. Dear angel, I just have one wish today to have my only wish come true.

Hello, new year!

I've been wanting to write, but at the same time I feel so tired and distracted. So, in the end, all I come up with is this usual list of mine.  Feeling : tired Loving : the lazy days Reading : nothing, apart from some quotes and blogs Wanting : for life to get better Dreaming : about my new apartment Having : headache Waiting : for some news about my new job How about you?
