Can't get off the bed

I've been off-blogging lately. Reason? I don't know. I tried to write, but every time I was kind of blank. I tried using quotes, reading etc. to help me, but all in vain. But, now I think something worked. I am not sure though, what that something is. I re-arranged my room, mainly my computer area yesterday. I guess that helped. Another thing could be that I woke up really early, and I've had a fresh morning, which is a debut for me. Well, whatever it is, I'm happy with it. One thing I realized today- "getting up early is not much a problem, getting out of bed is." Yes, it's really true. Once you manage to pull yourself out of bed, it's all OK. But, the first part is the problem. But then, we can have all the sleep while we can, can't we? ;) P.S. Let's connect on  Facebook ,  Instagram ,  Pinterest ,  Bloglovin ,  and   Twitter !

Love actually?

I remember being a hopeless romantic who believed ‘love conquers all’ and love was the destination to my journey called life. Love was always the ultimate goal, and the necessity too. Be it that special someone, or family, or friends- love was too big to let anything else come in the way. I was so far from reality, right? I had also been told a few times that I live in a dreamland, and life is not what I think it is. To use exact words, it was called living in a bubble.  And eventually, the bubble did break. I feel very differently now. I don't believe as much, I don't have the same blind faith, I try to keep myself at a safe distance from hurt, and I prepare myself for the worst. Maybe that's what growing up does to you. It shows you the more real but ugly side of love.  But, we ourselves are a part of the problem here. We romanticize love so much, we make it seem so perfect. And we just forget that the lovers are humans- imperfect creatures, stitched...

5 reasons why we procrastinate

Procrastination is probably the biggest evil in my life at this point. I have SO MUCH to do and yet I just procrastinate. I always find something to procrastinate with . It just stresses me so much in the end, and still I don't learn. So, I thought I should just sit with myself and figure out why the heck do I do this to myself. Arghh.. Big projects:  Whenever I have a big project coming up, I just keep looking at it like this big mountain that needs to be climbed. The more I think about it, more I don't want to do it. Eventually, I do climb it- but I just waste so much time thinking how can a tiny me climb this big mountain. To deal with this mountain- I have started to break into smaller doable chunks. I now set breakpoints over the journey and maybe small rewards or naps when I cross each of them. Rewards motivate me! Worry:  Sometimes I worry about the results. I have this fear of failure or not living up to the expectations. I feel like my family and frie...

5 Things I Learned from Blogging Again

Hello scribblers, How are you all? Long time since my last open letter to you. I know, I know, I was the one who had been absent for so long. Blogging again really seems like a comeback to me- can't even remember the past few years, they were so busy and fast. They still are, but writing is something I loved and therefore I have decided to give it my best effort by managing my time better. I started blogging again at the start of this year, and I am happy to be continuing it. And in this past month or so, there are a few things I have learned: Consistence is important , in everything we do. Even when we don't feel like doing it. Each day is different, and some days it takes a lot of extra work to get the thoughts from mind to paper. A little push on those days, and a bit of scheduling on the good days can help you on those seemingly bad ones.  It's quality, not quantity. The number of followers doesn't matter as much as the engagement with them. The num...

My big move

This last weekend was my big move across country. I am starting a new job soon, so new city new place. It is pretty exciting; I am thinking about home decor ALL THE TIME! I know it is going to take time set up the place and it will be one thing at a time, but I can't stop. I even made a Pinterest board for decor ideas- Check it out!  But along with all the excitement, it is also scary and overwhelming. There is SO MUCH to do. And having to do it alone, makes it even scarier. For every little thing you have to make a decision yourself, and some of those have to be quick. On top of that, unpacking is so damn hard. I am just procrastinating most of the time because I dread it. Plus I have no furniture to put my stuff in. But, slowly doing what I can. And, like every big thing, this big move also comes with some realizations: You need food and sleep. In a long list of things to do, these two tend to take a back seat. But our body has a way of reminding us their importance ...

You are your own enemy

Why do you have to give importance to everyone and everything, but yourself?  And, just because you make someone important, does not mean you mean the same to them.  Still, you would expect the same from them, and then no one is at fault but yourself.  You put yourself up for disappointments. You are the reason why you get hurt. You are the reason why people treat you the way they do.  You are the enemy you have.

Most important things..

Sleep : Over the last months of hectic schedules I realized the value of sleep in my life. I just can’t function if I don’t get a good sleep. Food : Like everyone else, being hungry makes me cranky. So, to be a normal person I need to be regularly fed. (Even better if someone else does that for me.) Love : If there’s no one to share it with, all happiness seems worthless. It’s a blessing to have someone who loves you with your flaws. Freedom : I just cannot take orders. I have to make my own mistakes, go with my gut, in anything that I do. Decisions are hard for me, I might ask for help, but in the end I have to be the one making them to be at peace. Friends : They are the backbone of life, supporting you constantly even when you don’t realize their presence. Writing : A few days go without writing anything, and I start feeling restless. That’s how important it is for me to write something, anything. I might not even publish it, but I do need some time with my pen and paper....

Things I learned this week..

People always act at their own convenience. When they need, they'll reach you to get what they want and after they are done they might not even bother to keep basic decency to let you know how it worked out. Even the people you hold closest can do that to you, so just try not getting attached to it. If you want to, give out your experiences as free advice but remember to not expect back. Thinking too much leads to nothing . There are so many everyday things you will have to do no matter what, so instead of feeling bad about all the time that they take up, just accept them as a part of your day and move on to savor the little time you have for yourself. Always get refundable tickets and bookings, even if they cost a little more. Expecting from others affects only you . Try to remember that. A little self-push is good sometimes. Socializing can be awkward for some, but it’s not bad once you give yourself that little push. Just try to get rid of your inhibitions, because y...

Things I learned..

I know I have been too busy lately. So much that I didn't even get a chance to stop and think about anything, let alone being able to keep them long enough to get them on paper or on this blog. But, this morning, time tricked me a little. (That might not be the best way to put it, but I think it will make sense if you read on.) So, what really happened was that I missed my bus by one minute, and I regretted it so much. I have gotten into this weird habit of turning on my laptop every morning while I am getting ready, and almost every day that’s what makes me running after the bus to work. I think I kind of needed this warning to stop wasting time when I really don't have any. So, on my next bus, I got to thinking about some things that I have learned over past few days, and I just have to share: Never add irrelevant things on list, when you're already short of time. It’s always better to be a minute early, than regret being late (or run after buses first thing in th...

My silver jubilee!

Today is my birthday; my silver jubilee. And for the first time in my life, I don't feel happy on this day. To think about it, it was a long birthday (like a long weekend) this time, if I start counting from the first birthday wish. An old friend of mine, who now lives in Australia was the first one to wish me, and that was yesterday morning. So, my birthday started almost one whole day before it started here. Other wishes kept coming as the earth kept rotating through all means - Facebook, Whatsapp, phone calls.. So, doesn't this mean I should be feeling extra special this time? But, I don't. I just don't. I feel lonely. For the first time, I don't have my family or friends around me; at least one of them was there always. Also, there was no birthday cake. I mean, what is a birthday without a cake? Never before did it hit me like it did today, how much I need the people I grew up with- my family and my friends, who were there to celebrate the occasions of...

Things I learned in last one year!

A lot changed for me in last one year. I moved to a new place and met new people, and I had all good-bad experiences.. But, I am happy for this change, 'coz it taught me a lot.. And here are a few things, that I think are lifetime lessons for me.. Some of them I still am working on, and I hope to grow better and learn more. 1. Be extrovert and outgoing.   If you aren't those, you are kinda screwed. Yes you'll still survive but isn't it good to have friends, and have fun. 2. Keep in touch with the loved ones. Life changes, and all of us go in different directions, but those random phone calls and Facebook messages revive the old memories, and make you feel special and wanted. Never lose the ones who matter to you, and more importantly the ones to whom you matter. Life is easy when you have someone to count on. 3. Learn to be on your own. Life's unexpected. It disappoints sometimes. And you should be able to gather yourself ...

Things I learned

1. A day is really long if you wake up early. So, I'd rather just sleep in. 2. Anger never makes you feel good. Forgiving does. Love does. 3. Anxiety kills the excitement and curiosity. But I never seem to remember this. 4. You can never have too much Pizza. At least I can't. 5. Friends are truly the best part of life, if you got the right ones.  Luckily, I've got them. 6. A girl needs shopping. Point to remember guys  7. It's really hard to study, after you get a break. What am I gonna do :(

While I was away

I have been off blogger for 20 days, and during this so very long time I had all time for observing and thinking. And I learned . . . 1. I am badly, madly, addicted to internet. 2. Butter can make anything and everything delicious. I wonder how I never realized this until now. I love butter! 3. Driving in fog is pretty fascinating, and dream-like. I would want to ignore the risk part. 4. Emotions are contagious . Be it happiness, or gloom, or jealousy, or any other feeling - they definitely are contagious. So, try being among the people you like. People who infuse good emotions in you. 5. Friends are the endorphin in life. Need them around more often! 6. Procrastination is my biggest enemy . I need to study, but I keep putting things off till a later time. And again I do the same. 7. One of the best things in life is to know you've got someone, unconditionally always there for you!  ♥
