Friday Things

Hello scribblers, How are you? How is life treating ya'll? What's going on lately? For me, it is pretty usual- Get up in the morning, get ready for work, eat my breakfast, try to fight sleep at work, come back home and cook, watch Game of Thrones with dinner and then try to sleep early. I have been failing at that last part a lot. I made some changes to the blog recently- I changed the header and also the default font for my blog. I also did a little tweaking in my template so now my posts titles are centered. I have to thank Dana , for her tutorials. They are really simple and easy to follow, and the small changes make a big difference. For creating the header, I used Canva . I love it- it's so easy to create images for my blog posts, icons or headers. For the fonts, I used free fonts from Google and imported them to my template. They have so many good fonts and it was so hard for me to choose. I initially had picked way too many, but thankfully they have...

Happy things

"Enjoy the little things,  for one day you may look back  and realize they were the big things."  - Robert Brault We often overlook them, but these little happy things have the power of changing out lives- they change our mood, our attitude, and our energies. With struggles of everyday life, we focus more on the negatives and the let downs, and it causes so much stress in life. I, myself, am not the most positive person always but time to time I like to look back and smile at the little happy things that make me feel blessed and peaceful at heart. And, today I thought of sharing with you some of the happy things from last few days! Stay at home: It wasn't planned but I had to go for an eye exam in the morning and the doctor suggested I stay away from sunlight and computers for some time. So I worked from home, after a good one-hour nap. Pay-day: I don't think I need to say much about it- my metaphorical pockets say it for me! Spa:...

One TV show that should have existed

I am not a big TV person. Maybe that's because I don't get much time for that, and also because I get bored easily so it's really hard to stick to most TV shows. But there are two TV shows that I can watch any day any time and for however long. I can do marathons of these two. You should already know the ones if you have been following me here or on my Facebook page .  The special ones are:  FRIENDS: I feel like I grew up with FRIENDS, and whenever it's on TV it just makes me so happy! I love all of the characters so much, and I think we all can relate to those characters so much. Parks and Recreation: This was a recent show, and honestly I started it coz I was bored but I ended up falling in love. The show teaches you so much while making you laugh so much. I was so inspired by Leslie Knope and so much in love with all the weirdos. I still am! BUT, that's not I wanna talk about today.  I want to talk about a serious problem with books and mov...

Things I procrastinate with

(Photo: here ) They say when you procrastinate you do the things you like the most. There's a quote by Jessica Hische that says,"the work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life". When I procrastinate, I do it with: Tumblr - it is my first go to app on phone, and probably the most visited website on my laptop. Friends - thanks Netflix!  Cleaning - normally, I wouldn't go for it, but when I am dreading some other task, suddenly cleaning my room becomes very important. Food . I'm always extra hungry when I'm bored. (I should do something about this.) Doodling and writing - I get a creativity boost when I'm shooing away responsibilities.  Phone calls - usually I'm not a phone person but I start missing everyone when there are other things to be done Plan - I try to fit things in future days to make myself not feel guilty for wasting time now.  I think I can be a greatly distracted...

February Update!

Feeling : kinda worthless. Loving : FRIENDS (The TV show- It never gets old.) Reading : research papers, algorithms. Wanting : to get better, and soon. Dreaming : of a time when I won't have to study. Having : Greek yogurt. Waiting : for this quarter to end. 2 more weeks! How about you guys?

Expectations vs. Reality

I can't believe snow is here already. And I had to go attend morning class in this weather. I want to say lovely weather, but I think that would have been more apt if I didn't have to go out.  All I wanna do today is just grab my laptop and sit in a coffee shop all day long, and not worry about a single thing. I wanna drive down to the Starbucks on East H. and sit by a window there, connect my laptop and just relax. Write, read, tweet, read, listen to some music, watch some Friends with a hot Latte and the aroma of fresh brewing coffee.  But, all I am gonna do is attend classes and go gym, and worry about finals next week and the hell lot of assignments this week, while fitting in the lunch and cooking and dinner somewhere between this chaos.  Sometimes I wonder if I even made the right choice. There's no peace in life!

A movie weekend

I went to see Madagascar 3 on Friday night; It was like just another Madagascar movie. I like the first two better than this one. But the good thing is I love animated movies, so I enjoyed this one too.  I just love those animals! I also went to see Barfii  on Saturday. It was like the most awaited Bollywood movie of the year. And I just loved the portrayal of characters and innocent love. I want love like that. And I watched One Day on my laptop.. I cried. This weekend was totally a movie weekend for me.  Of course with lots of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. time, but that's usual.  I am such an addict.  I really didn't do anything else, and now I feel bad for that because I really had lots of work to do and I kept procrastinating the whole time, so this week is gonna be damn hard! I plan to go see Corning Museum next weekend, no movies. What are your plans?

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for: 1. A good hair day,  very rare in my case. 2. A little good talk,  t hough it required me to fight first. 3. Realizing that writing isn't as tough as I am making it to be 4. A day off,  for a life without even weekends off now days. 5. Finding good links to watch GG. 6. Having street food,  after long time now.  I completely forgot how much I used to enjoy it. 7. A good book, Thanks for the memories. What are you thankful for?
