5 things I am thankful for

Netflix: It's about time Netflix added some good movies, and A Walk to Remember is definitely a good one to start with. Hoping to see some more ever-classics on there. New TV: Finally I got rid of the monitor-sized TV, and now I have a TV I can actually say is a TV. Watching Game of Thrones on this one is so fulfilling. Vacation: It was a much needed time away from work, and a real vacation this time— no travelling, no exploring, no sleep deprivation. Just eat, beach, and sleep. Relaxed week: This past week has been relatively relaxed and stress-free (a lot of people are on vacation and so there's less badgering for now ) and I couldn't be happier about it. Health: For a long time, I have had some health concerns but never been able to figure out the cause. Finally, thanks to the new doctor and bunch of tests, I have some clarity and direction. What are you thankful for today? P.S. Let's connect on  Facebook ,  Instagram ,  P...

Finally here you are, June

Thanks, Netflix! Remembering: 2014, living with my old roommate Waiting:  for Friday; for it's when the vacation starts! Birthday: A day in my life

My birthday is my favorite day of the year, so how can I not talk about it? For today's prompt in the October Blogging Challenge , I am sharing a day in my life— the best day, my birthday! Birthday this year was easily in the top five so far— it had travel, wishes from friends and family, great gifts, amazing food, and love! I started my birthday this year in Seattle with birthday drinks at The Needle & Thread . In the morning, we woke up late after a good night's sleep, so that made for a happy morning. We went around downtown for a little walk, and then had a delicious and healthy brunch at Hotel Five . After the brunch, we dressed up and spent the day at Pike Place Market , and the Waterfront . I really loved the vibe at the Pike Place market, with the local shops and so much food. Did you know the First Starbucks store is there in the Pike Place market? I tried the Pumpkin Spice Latte for the first time— honestly, it was just okay. For lunch, I h...

Long Weekend in Oregon: Road Trip

This was probably the most random trip so far— it was not exactly a last moment trip, but wasn't the first choice. It wasn't even a choice initially. I was part of a plan to Florida with a bunch of friends, but that fell thru and we cancelled our tickets. But, I didn't want to waste a long weekend sitting home, hence began the search for affordable tickets last minute and also I wanted to avoid a lot of travel time. And thus I come to Oregon as an option and started looking at the things to do and pictures... And that was it! We booked out tickets— Virgin America was pretty cheap and it was just a 90 minutes flight. And lucky for us, we got to fly first class on our way back because for some reason they were selling those cheaper than the economy. So, obviously I grabbed them! Portland We landed in Portland Friday night, and stay at a Best Western Hotel near airport. We were starving by the time we were done with the rental car, and checking in to the...

Thankful Thursday

'Thank you' is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.  — Alice Walker I believe in gratitude. I believe in saying thanks- It brings joy to heart and makes us feel blessed for our life and everything in it, which we take for granted most of them times. With so much stress at work and in relationships, it gets harder and harder to see any good. We need to make giving gratitude a practice, a little prayer to say before we doze off each night. I use my blog to share my gratitude for life with you, and t oday, I am thankful for: Blogging:   I am getting back to blogging after over a month now, and it did take a little push to make myself sit and write again, but I am glad to be back. Trips: I have two trips planned for coming months- Portland for the long weekend, and Seattle for my birthday. I am so excited, and am loving the planning! Saturday Nights: A night o...

A day in San Francisco — Memorial Day

If you have followed my blog for sometime, you probably know about my big move across coast. It's been a few months being a Cali resident, but I haven't gotten out as much as I would have liked.  Maybe once we move to a place, it kinda loses the tourist charm that it has when we visit for a weekend. Don't you think? I decided to make this right and this Memorial Day weekend, I spent my first Touristy day in San Francisco. Like anything else, I made a long list of places to see, and spread it across three days based on distance proximity. Yes, it was a whole weekend plan but life get in way and hence it ended up being just a day trip. The day started with a little detour at Bay Trail, near Shoreline Park, followed by a quick brunch at Crepe Vine and a beautiful long drive to the city. The Painting Ladies at Alamo Square was our first stop. These are basically just houses with a Victorian architecture and painted with three or more colors. The whole area l...

My two favorites: Friends & Harry potter

Anybody who knows me knows how much love I have for F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Harry Potter . It's more than love, like this obsession, so much that my friends get irritated at times. The same weekend as my Disney trip , we also took a trip to the Warner Bros. Studios. I was super-excited! Here are some pictures of one of the best days of my life. Let's first go to Central Perk  I got the black one!  Yes, I sat on that couch!  ...and now to my other love  I looked. Mine wasn't there :-(   I love you Dobby Gryffindor!! I also did send out the Bat-signal  and we ended the day with the mandatory Hollywood sign visit. What a weekend it was! When was your last trip? Where did you go? P.S. That one time in Disneyland

Since I am back in the land of sunshine, I was reminiscing about the day when I was here the last time. Hanging out with friends all the time, starting on Monday to make plans for next weekend, travelling like it's the last chance to do so. I had the most fun in those six months, and I look forward to re-live some of it and make new memories. Here are some pictures from my awesome trip to Disneyland!  Like everything else, it's the people around you that make these moments special.  I am lucky to have found great friends in life! --------------------------------------------------------- P.S. Let's get social!
