My biggest Pet peeves — October Blogging Challenge Day 6

My biggest Pet peeves — October Blogging Challenge Day 6

Today, as a part of my blogging challenge, I am sharing the things that irk me the most:

  1. People chewing with mouth open just ruin the meal for me. Not only they'll show the food in their mouth to everyone, they'll add on their personal sounds so you can't ignore them by looking in another direction. Bad table manners are just a big turn off!
  2. The sound of someone scratching their nail on wood or pencil. I don't know what's about it but it sends jitters up my spine. It's something I can't even tolerate for a second.
  3. People using speakerphones for their personal or work calls. Even if you don't want to hold your phone, they do come with headphones right? no one has any interest in your calls. They are just noise to me. Please be considerate of others' space.
  4. People who don't listen. Everyone wants to multitask these days, so much that they want to catch up on their emails, and Facebook, and texting while I am talking to them. The fact that I am making an effort despite your multitasking clearly means it's something that's important to me. So the least you can do is listen with attention.
  5. Bad personal hygiene is another thing that just turns me off. people who think it's okay to not wash their hands, or who won't clean their bathrooms just disgust me. That is the basic level of hygiene. Live in a messy house all you want, but maintain a livable level please.
  6. When someone replies with a "K". I mean why? How hard is it to write an Okay? What did you do in that nanosecond you saved? That is simply rude to me, so don't judge me if you don't hear from me after that.

What are your pet peeves, scribblers?

A day in San Francisco — Memorial Day

If you have followed my blog for sometime, you probably know about my big move across coast. It's been a few months being a Cali resident, but I haven't gotten out as much as I would have liked.  Maybe once we move to a place, it kinda loses the tourist charm that it has when we visit for a weekend. Don't you think? I decided to make this right and this Memorial Day weekend, I spent my first Touristy day in San Francisco. Like anything else, I made a long list of places to see, and spread it across three days based on distance proximity. Yes, it was a whole weekend plan but life get in way and hence it ended up being just a day trip. The day started with a little detour at Bay Trail, near Shoreline Park, followed by a quick brunch at Crepe Vine and a beautiful long drive to the city. The Painting Ladies at Alamo Square was our first stop. These are basically just houses with a Victorian architecture and painted with three or more colors. The whole area l...

I am thankful for

1. Naps: I had been in sleep debt for such a long time now, and over this weekend I slept well and a lot, and I feel like I have some energy back.  2. Alone time: My roommate was busy this weekend, and I was all alone- just doing my sleeping, laundry, reading. Like I have said before , it is a recharge for me to spend some time with just myself without the need to talk or be there for others.  3. Work: Past few months were a long, painful wait to get work. I used to hate those days when I was just waiting and it made me feel so worthless. But finally, I have got it! Bonus point: the perfect location- it's a five minute walk to a beautiful park facing a lake. I have been going there every day during lunch.  4. Fights: Normally, fights aren't something people are thankful for. But sometimes they show you how people care for you or how much you mean to them, so yeah today I am thankful for few. 5. A good news: My childhood friend got engaged! Yay!...

Transient Tuesdays: Don’t Be Afraid of Change

There are two types of people: those who fear change and those who actively pursue. I have always been an active pursuer of change, while my brother was not. I was the kid who changed my after school activity until I found what I really loved, with no fear at all. I was the one who changed my hair in middle school, who became a leader in a club during my freshmen year of high school, and who insisted on touring the country at 17.  Change is a choice, and is an active endeavor. And so is not changing. We decide the direction our lives take, and we can either do so with fear or with confidence. Making changes keeps life the way you want it, on the track you wish to take, and is completely you’re choice what to do, or not do. Change shouldn't scare you, because it’s a tool to help you make your life just the way you want. Although staying where you are is comforting, change can make you grow and improve your situation. So go change your hair, your job, your city, or w...
