5 excuses we should stop using

We all use excuses for several things everyday. Well, it is easier than coming up with a reasonable explanation which sometimes doesn't even exist. So, we lie! We all know it's not the best thing to do, but we still do it and here are some of the excuses we use way too often in our everyday lives: Being busy: Let’s admit- we have all used this one so many times. Whether it be not returning a call, or forgetting something important, or not giving time to people in our life- we are just conveniently busy. But, are we really? We do manage to find time for Facebook, or Netflix, or other unimportant things. I know it is sometimes exhausting to do the things we are supposed to be doing, but always acting busy can upset the important people in our lives and we won’t want it to get to where it’s too late to go back. Know what deserves your attention, and make time for that! Traffic: This one probably tops the list of most commonly used excuses. Was the traffic really

5 reasons why we procrastinate

Procrastination is probably the biggest evil in my life at this point. I have SO MUCH to do and yet I just procrastinate. I always find something to procrastinate with . It just stresses me so much in the end, and still I don't learn. So, I thought I should just sit with myself and figure out why the heck do I do this to myself. Arghh.. Big projects:  Whenever I have a big project coming up, I just keep looking at it like this big mountain that needs to be climbed. The more I think about it, more I don't want to do it. Eventually, I do climb it- but I just waste so much time thinking how can a tiny me climb this big mountain. To deal with this mountain- I have started to break into smaller doable chunks. I now set breakpoints over the journey and maybe small rewards or naps when I cross each of them. Rewards motivate me! Worry:  Sometimes I worry about the results. I have this fear of failure or not living up to the expectations. I feel like my family and frien

Picture Perfect Friday: Love is perfect

One TV show that should have existed

I am not a big TV person. Maybe that's because I don't get much time for that, and also because I get bored easily so it's really hard to stick to most TV shows. But there are two TV shows that I can watch any day any time and for however long. I can do marathons of these two. You should already know the ones if you have been following me here or on my Facebook page .  The special ones are:  FRIENDS: I feel like I grew up with FRIENDS, and whenever it's on TV it just makes me so happy! I love all of the characters so much, and I think we all can relate to those characters so much. Parks and Recreation: This was a recent show, and honestly I started it coz I was bored but I ended up falling in love. The show teaches you so much while making you laugh so much. I was so inspired by Leslie Knope and so much in love with all the weirdos. I still am! BUT, that's not I wanna talk about today.  I want to talk about a serious problem with books and mov

I am thankful for

1. Naps: I had been in sleep debt for such a long time now, and over this weekend I slept well and a lot, and I feel like I have some energy back.  2. Alone time: My roommate was busy this weekend, and I was all alone- just doing my sleeping, laundry, reading. Like I have said before , it is a recharge for me to spend some time with just myself without the need to talk or be there for others.  3. Work: Past few months were a long, painful wait to get work. I used to hate those days when I was just waiting and it made me feel so worthless. But finally, I have got it! Bonus point: the perfect location- it's a five minute walk to a beautiful park facing a lake. I have been going there every day during lunch.  4. Fights: Normally, fights aren't something people are thankful for. But sometimes they show you how people care for you or how much you mean to them, so yeah today I am thankful for few. 5. A good news: My childhood friend got engaged! Yay! The w

A day of you

How does it sound, a day dedicated to you? a day of self-care, a day of relaxation, a day of nothing. My perfect day would look something like this: Sleeping till late There's nothing I love more than my morning sleep.  But, thanks to whoever made this 9 to 5 work rule, that doesn't happen much.  My perfect day would definitely mean waking up late. Breakfast in bed Being the lazy ass I am, I tend to just stay in bed even after I am awake.  How wonderful it would be to have someone bring me food in bed. (Hint: Pancakes) Books I can totally picture myself curled up in bed, reading Harry Potter.  I am not strict about having a Harry Potter book, as long as I get to read a good book. Massages They are the best thing ever!  I get so relaxed that I always fall asleep- second chance to sleep in the same day WOW! Hugs and cuddles I definitely would need my dose of love! Doodling I don't think I can go by a whole day without

7 ways to handle stress in life

The busier life gets, more stressful it becomes. Having a lot on my plate lately, I have felt it even more. And, trying to handle all of it I decided to make a little list of things that help me to handle stress so that I can try to remember them and include them in life. And, since sharing is caring, I want to share it with you too. Take notes- Don't rely on memory. So many times I overestimate myself and think that I will remember everything later, and I have later regretted that. I have started putting things as reminders and taking notes in my planner for things I need to do. Prioritize- Take one thing at a time. This is a very important one, and probably the biggest culprit for my stress. But, now I try to put things on calendar so I have a blueprint for the day. Once you know what is more important, and you get those done, you won't feel so stressed even if you can't get to the last things on the list.. Avoid negative people-  I can't even coun

Best things in life

It's almost weekend scribblers, and I thought I would share a little list of the best things to me in life. Naps- I love sleeping. Sleeping in late on weekends brings me joy. Even more, I love those days when I get up, eat my breakfast, and then go back for another nap.  Secretly hoping for it to happen this weekend. I also wouldn't mind one any other time of day. Desserts-  Who doesn't like a bite of something sweet? After every meal, I just want something sweet- a mini dessert to finish the meal. Desserts are my comfort food. I love brownies, and cheesecakes. But since I can't eat those everyday, I have my healthier dessert option- dark chocolate with almonds. Hugs- The feeling of relaxing in arms of someone you love makes you feel so calm and safe. Nothing can beat that feeling. Hug it out! Music- Listening to some tunes can always make the day better. It also helps me focus better, it cuts out all other noise at work and I can just do my work while enjo

Beauty Faves: tarte

Last year I started my internship, and since I had to go to work everyday I decided to look more presentable and so I started watching some makeup tutorials on YouTube.  That's how I was introduced to the world of Sephora, and over the last year I have tried on several brands. I am no expert, but I really love tarte's products.  I was organizing my makeup drawer yesterday, and I thought why not share my favorites with you! 1. BB Cream:  I love BB creams- they're not as thick as foundations, and I specially love this one. It's very light and it also is SPF 30 so I don't have to worry too much about going out in sun. It comes in 5 colors for different skin tones; for my skin tone, the medium-tan is just perfect! 2. Lip Tint I am a big fan of tarte's matte lip tints. It is easy to use and carry. The lip tint is also moisturizing in itself, so you don't need to carry lip balm and a lip tint. There is a hint of peppermint infused, somet

Make a habit, Break a habit!

Last month I participated in the 'Make a habit, break a habit' linkup hosted by My Passion Journey and The Pinnacle Project, and as the new month starts I want to make and break some new habits. For this month, Habit to make - a sleep routine- going to bed at a proper time, and also taking few minutes before bed to take care of my skin Habit to keep - working out and eating healthy foods Habit to break - the compulsion to check every app on my phone before bed (breaking this habit will also help in the habit I am trying to keep) What habits do you wanna make or break?
